I have always looked for opportunities to continue my education, learn new skills, and acquire new knowledge. When I worked full-time as a journalist, I participated in a number of workshops to expand my skills and expertise. As an information professional, I continue to learn.
In 2009, I joined the Washington Library Association and I continue to renew my membership in two professional journalism associations. In 2010, I attended the Pacific Northwest Library Association annual conference and participated in four workshops over the past 12 months to improve my reference skills and my ability to edit videos, expanding my ability to reach library users.
The workshops are:
I plans to continue the expand my understanding of statistical analysis, reference skills, and my limited Spanish language skills to better serve our Spanish-speaking library users. I also continue to expand and refine my technical abilities and sharpen my ability to communicate in different formats.
