Library Journal posted the Movers & Shakers
I'm behind on all my reading, NPR, NY Times, book for book group, etc. Bad Marta, no new release urban fantasy for you!
I expect there's a lack of caring about how I motivate myself to be organized so I'll just cut to what you really want to know, who was recognized this year.
I was privileged to write profiles on Kristi Chadwick, Myron Groover, Justine Hernandez, Alicia Virtue, and Madeline Walton-Hadlock.
This is the fourth year I've written Mover & Shaker articles for Library Journal. I only wrote five profiles this year. In past years I've written between 10 and 15 but I've been promoted twice at my library job in the nine months and have cut back on committing nonfiction.
It's the second year that I worked with the fabulous Francine Fialkoff on these projects. Francine, like Sarah Bayliss, who is now at School Library Journal, always improves my writing with their editing. Francine knows how to cut through static and narrow in on what's important. She's like a laser.
Don't forget to read about the rest of the Movers & Shakers and get inspired about what you can do at your library.
