Manage
I learned
about different management theories and styles and ways to support a
leader, a team, and a project. With a five-person team, I developed the skills to analyze the strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, and threats (SWOT) of a semi-imaginary community college library. I applied that knowledge to help create Cascade
Community College Library, Build, Participate, Facilitate, Strategic Plan:
FY2011 to FY2013 (below), which proposed embedding librarians into online and face-to-face
classes and improving online access to increase information
literacy. I determined the methodology to measure the impact of the embedded
program and developed the program's budget.
I learned to create a proposal to obtain buy-in from university administration that oversees a semi-imaginary academic library. When I created Understanding Our Community: Columbia State University Library Proposed Community Needs Analysis with university administrators, I learned the importance of anticipating the questions an audience could ask and what would appeal to an audience.

Administration and Management:
Aid in effective and appropriate change in library and information services through collaboration, communication, and collegiality.
